REPS provide direct and indirect employment assistance to the people of the Redlands.
That means they help Job Seekers and also Businesses, Community & Industry, so business can help grow, improve and sustain its workforce.
REPS have been helping people in the Redlands since about 1980 but in its current form since 1994.

The Redlands Employer Placement Service (REPS) is a community based non-profit organisation specialising in employment and training assistance for the Mature aged (40+), Parents and Careers returning to work, Unemployed or Underemployed and works with Business to achieve Job Outcomes

REPS conducts a range of programs to assist people who have no access to any other form of assistance.

For Example, Employment Assistance - REPS regularly Conduct "Breaking through the Barriers"

This provides a range of opportunities and help for people who are unemployed or under employed, usually mature aged and not usually on income support benefits.

It is ideal for:
  • People who have been out of the Workforce for some time and are wanting to update their Employability skills and experience.
  • People who are more recently lost their job.
  • People who have Retired but wanting to re enter the workforce in downsized role!
  • People who are needing to Top up their Super payments and did not expect to have to re enter the work force.
  • People who have been former Managers or supervisors who find a challenge from being over qualified or who have limited qualifications but heaps of experience.

It provides assistance through having flexible options including:
  • Help with Resumes, Letters of Application, Selection Criteria and Interview Skills.
  • Interview Skills, current workplace practices & Legislation.
  • Having current Work Experience opportunities.
  • Retail & Customer Service Jobs preparation – Part of a Certificate II in Retail.
  • Finding the hidden Job Market.
  • Opportunities for developing small businesses with a minimum risk!
  • Find new Pathways to accredited training to up skill qualifications.


The Breaking through the Barriers is A Community Jobs Plan project developed and funded, under “Skilling Queenslanders for Work” Queensland Government.

REPS usually have a success rate of close to 90% for people being assisted through this type of activity.

Working with Business and Industry, Business Service and Industry partnerships are indirect employment assistance s measure. These help Business to grow and sustain real jobs.

REPS developed the Redland Retail Awards 8 years ago. This was indirect assistance because it galvanized the Major Retail Sector in Redlands through the commitment of the major and other Retail Centres to help develop the industry here, and create additional jobs through increasing the Size of the Retail Sector and help prevent leakage into the retail locations outside the Redlands!

REPS Business services provide a unique range of help to business to reduce tier exposure to risks, both Financial and stress related, to help them manage the complexities of Compliance with regulations, consumers, Suppliers ,Staff and Financial survival and growth.

Within the Redlands Community, REPS have shown leadership in developing Business, Community, Industry and Government Alliances and initiated job creation and Recognition programs.
WE have business partners and supporters with whom we work on a regular basis to help achieve our mission of ‘Getting more people into JOBS and keeping them there'.

Some REPS Achievements, Initiatives and Community Involvements.

  • REPS Introduced: Bayside 2000 jobs Campaign and brought the New Touch Screens to Redland Shopping Centres to create an awareness of the changes in Employment Services and the new Centrelink and Job network.
  • Cleveland Harbourside Markets- minor Cleveland Markets in the new Harbourside Shopping Centre (Now Stocklands centre) to give opportunities for small Home based Businesses to enter the market slowly to promote and sell their products 1998 - 2002
  • REPS Redland Pride Initiatives to promote Work Experience for unemployed people, partnered with Redlands Chamber of Commerce, Redland Shire Council and Max Employment. Civic Solutions. 2002 -2005
  • Developed conducted and handed over, the Redland Retail Awards 2003
  • Initiated the Best Boss Award into the Redland Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards 1999
