During recent work experience, one of our Retail program participants was randomly assessed from a local retailers' Mystery Shopper. She was given 100% by the assessor and not only was this a fantastic outcome for our participant, but it was the first time that a staff member was ever awarded 100%. This participant has now commenced work with another retailer in the same shopping centre.
Job Success in Mayor's Office
By REPS
Liz Carter (REPS Graduate) Front. Michael Choi MP, Janine Casey (REPS Training Manager) with Mayor Melva Hobson.Liz secured an Administration Traineeship in Redlands City Council in a highly competitive selection process, after undertaking the personal pre-employment program at REPS. This is the second REPS graduate that has secured work in the Mayor’s office and there are several others, both male and female who have been successful in their applications to council after REPS assistance.
Liz said "Going to REPS, even to the information session, made me, and all of us, realize that this was a new world. It was like going into a dark room and turning on the lights. Janine & Julie & the whole REPS team, really know how we feel and what we really need to know to get back into work. Most of us got back into work and the REPS approach made this all possible, and was at no cost to us.”
REPS deliver this “Breaking through the Barriers” program to help prepare people like Liz to return to the workforce, and the State Government are proud to provide funding through the 'Skilling Queenslanders for Work' initiative," Michael Choi said.
